LC #40: Pros and Cons

There were more "cons" than "pros" in this week's episode. See what I did there? Because Sawyer's a con-man, and the episode title is "Recon"? Like, he's conning them again? And then he cons the guy who's probably conning all of them by conning the guy who may or may not be there to save them all?

Okay, enough of the bad puns. This week we got to see a Sawyer we've never seen before—on the right side of the law and on the wrong side of the ladies. Meanwhile, back on the island, Smokey is looking less and less like a bad guy, new arrivals are making preparations, and we're left with a bunch of new questions.

This was a great week for Lost fans, as we got the best action scenes from the series so far, some good plot reveals, some great character moments, and an awesome closing of this season's first act. But beyond merely discussing this episode, we cover some interesting theories, including some ideas on Jacob's motivations and what the purpose of the island is.

LOST S5 DVD Promos Galore!

LOST Season 5 is released today on both standard DVD and Blu-Ray! Better yet, you can also get the "Dharma Initiation Kit" in either version too! Before we get to the promo videos and pictures, let's look at the kit...

The Dharma Initiation Kit includes:

A three-ring binder with a welcome letter from Horace Goodspeed and various Dharma pamphlets (don't miss the sealed envelope in the back of the binder!)
Patches for Dharma's motor pool, security, and Lamp Post station
Geronimo Jackson's CD single for "Dharma Lady" (made to look like a vinyl 45)
DVD discs made to look like old-school computer floppy disks
