Erik

Erik

All Shows: Owner, Executive Producer
RandomChatter: Editor, Producer, Host, Writer
LostChatter: Editor, Producer, Host, Writer
MovieChatter: Producer, Host
TechChatter: Host
Webmaster

Erik's been around since the very early days of podcasting, and he was the recipient of the 2005 Podcast Award in the "Movies/Film" category for his podcast at TheForce.net. He remembers back when you had to have a program like FeedDemon to download shows, and can even tell you stories about the fight to get podcasts into the iTunes store. He also likes to lament about having to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow...

He's married to Ren, also a co-host, and the two of them celebrated the birth of their first child, Nicholas, in the spring of 2009. He has a Jack Russell Terrier named Kessel (who once had a very popular advice column at RandomChatter.com called "Kessel's Korner"). He makes excessive use of parenthesis (such as right now).

He's an expert at Star Wars trivia, but what most people don't know is that he's just as well-versed at Firefly/Serenity, Babylon 5, the recent Battlestar Galactica, and Lost. He doesn't mind Star Trek, but he's not a Trekkie. His favorite book is Ender's Game. He's a big fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and all its recent spin-offs. His least favorite movies are historical films & musicals, and his favorite movies are sci-fi & comedies.

Andrew

Andrew

MovieChatter: Editor, Host, Writer
RandomChatter: Guest Host

Andrew's his name, and movies are his game. Andrew is a student at North Carolina State University, where he is studying film, sociology and journalism. He met Erik in 2006 and worked as a co-host on The Movie Survival Guide. He is also a certified member of the press, covering entertainment reviews and news for the NCSU newspaper. His hobbies include, but are not limited to: reading, writing, filmmaking, studying theology, playing video games and thinking deep philosophical thoughts about the nature of the universe and the meaning of life (if only it was 42!).

He lived in Central America for eight years (Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador, respectfully) and is fluent in Spanish. He also spent a semester in China, where he researched the growing Chinese film industry, filmed a spontaneous documentary about a political protest, ate yak cheese, and hung out with one of the last matriarchal societies on the planet. He doesn't have a favorite film genre, though he does appreciate really good, idea-based science fiction - yes, he's one of those people who insists The Fountain is one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time. Fun fact: Andrew worked as a door-to-door salesman for two summers and swears it was the best job he's ever had. He also owns a Borat mankini which he occasionally lounges around in, since if you've got it you've got to flaunt it.

Joe

Joe

LostChatter: Host
RandomChatter: Guest Host

A gaming aficionado and a family man, Joe is what we call a “Renaissance Man”. Equal parts artist and technician, he is a corporate graphic designer and an audio-video wunderkind. Joe possesses the unnerving ability to work PhotoShop faster than the eye can follow.

Joe is one of the hosts of the Trailer Trash Talk podcast, which is another podcast in the Dead Workers Podcast Network. He's still bitter that George Lucas violated his childhood.

Morgan

Morgan

MovieChatter: Host
Morgan is a writer, actor and all around really, really swell guy who enjoys long walks on the beach and watching Kiefer Sutherland blow people up. A student at North Carolina State University majoring in Creative Writing and Japanese, he has been writing for the university paper, The Technician (technicianonline.com), for nearly three years as an arts reviewer, columnist and features writer. His turn-offs include Victorian literature and video games featuring John Madden. His turn-ons are hyperbole, his ego and cute widdle kitty widdies.

When he's not busy being totally and completely awesome at everything he does, he likes obsessing over the great cancelled TV shows (My So-Called Life, Touching Evil, Profit, Jack & Bobby, Sports Night, Titus, Brimstone, to name a few), rewatching Babylon 5 for the umpteenth billion bloody time, buying anime box sets which involve guys with big swords that cause massive localized blood explosions, and reading postmodernist literature (pretending he knows what's going on to look smart for all the pretty, well read English babes in his department).

Nathan

Nathan

LostChatter: Host
RandomChatter: Guest Host

Nathan comes to the RandomChatter podcast family by way of his featured involvement with the movie-ranking social network, Flickchart. In addition to co-founding Flickchart, Nathan also works as a web and graphic designer, plays drums in severalFlorida bands, and is raising a family just outside of Orlando. His interests include disaster films, video gaming, and all manner of tech-geek gadgetry. If you want someone to debate the merits of the latest web apps, argue whether the Star Wars prequels were any good, or need the un-Googleable Google'd - Nathan's your guy.

An avid fan of all forms of entertainment including film, television, video gaming, and music - Nathan brings to LostChatter an analytical view of Lost - often from unusual perspectives, intrigued by how the mythos of the show translates to other stories, and constantly dissects the plot to the point of no return in order to solve the mysteries permeating the series. In addition to being available via @lostchatter on Twitter, he can be reached directly at nathan@lostchatter.com.

Ned

Ren

RandomChatter: Host
MovieChatter: Guest Host

Ren is our resident female. She's fairly new to podcasting, but she's figured out that all she really needs to do is verbally slap Erik. Her favorite movie is Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. She hates chick-flicks and loves explosions. She's married to Erik and prefers her cat over his dog.

GUESTS:

Eric

Eric Fullerton

RandomChatter: Guest Host
LostChatter: Guest Host
TechChatter: Guest Host
First Appearance: RC_007

Eric Fullerton is one of the four hosts at the Control Point podcast and is a member of the Dead Workers Party, of whose network we are a member. Eric works in film production and has a much more exciting job than our Erik does.

Jeff Lyons

TechChatter: Guest Host
First Appearance: TC_023
(coming soon)

Jeff S.

RandomChatter: Guest Host
MovieChatter: Guest Host
LostChatter: Guest Host
First Appearance: RC_001

Jeff didn't mail Erik an "About Us" description. Jeff will regret this someday. Jeff likes dressing up in women's clothes while choreographing complicated dance numbers from various classic musicals such as West Side Story and South Park. His favorite movie is whatever Erik says his favorite movie is (usually Kung Pow: Enter the Fist). He wasn't at all bothered that the Cloverfield monster wasn't explained, and he feels closure in films is overrated. He loves Michael Moore documentaries, and he's a closet Milli Vanilli fan. Jeff was one of the first regular RandomChatter hosts.

Miranda

RandomChatter: Guest Host
First Appearance: RC_022

Miranda lives just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, in the northernmost part of Kentucky. She is a single white female looking for.. oh wait.. wrong kind of profile! She is a student at Northern Kentucky University, where she is working towards a Masters in Teaching Mathematics, yes that's right some day she will teach your child to calculate algebraic equations. Scary. Ecclectic is the best word to describe her interests. Miranda is a huge basketball fan (Kentucky Wildcats and Houston Rockets being her two favorite teams) but enjoys most all team sports. Her favorite genre is spy fiction, but she watches any television show with good writing and acting. She likes to read, a lot, mostly stories with a happily ever after and spends most of her free time writing or waiting anxiously for the next episode of her favorite television shows. You can hear her voice on several different podcasts, The 9th - Heroescast.com, The Signal (www.serenityfirefly.com), FireflyTalk (www.fireflytalk.com) and her newest endeavor The Dollhouse Podcast (www.thedollhousepodcast.com).
