Legal? Perhaps. Right? No.

We've talked a lot about the Watchmen movie and its lawsuit between Fox and Warner Brothers. A recent court ruling indicates that Fox has "at least some rights" to distribution, and therefore, both parties should work toward an agreement rather than battling it out in court. Both Fox and WB have refused to come to a settlement and have asked the court to make a final ruling, which will take place later this month.

For those of you who are Watchmen fans, I highly recommend you read this letter from the film's producer, Lloyd Levin.

It's a very level-headed perspective on what's going on. However, its points make me all the more angry at what Fox is doing. Sure, it might be legal. But it's not right.

It was more of the back story and how the film got made then actual legal rights. I was a little disappointed, because I haven’t read a good article on why each company think they have the rights to the film. However it makes Fox look like a couple of jerks, and the worst part they probably aren’t (well in this case atleast). I think this whole thing is a fluff piece just trying to build up hype for “the movie that everyone thinks would never get made”.
